Toddlers thrive when the day has enough structure to feel predictable and enough freedom to follow curiosity. Our routines create peace without making the classroom rigid.
A typical day may include:
- A warm welcome from familiar teachers and an optional light snack.
- A short group gathering with songs, movement, and storytelling for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Daily Spanish enrichment for 15 to 20 minutes through music, games, words, and playful interaction.
- A Montessori-inspired work cycle where children engage with prepared materials and hands-on activities.
- Small-group experiences that help toddlers interact with peers, practice social skills, and learn to communicate.
- Outdoor time for climbing, running, gardening, observing nature, and strengthening physical development.
- Lunch followed by a two-hour nap or quiet rest period.
- An afternoon snack with more indoor or outdoor exploration before pickup.
The routine gives your child a dependable foundation while respecting the stage they are in. Our teachers watch for cues, offer support when needed, and allow time for trial and error. This balance helps young children learn that they can explore, make choices, solve small problems, and return to the adults they trust whenever they need comfort.
Toddler Program Enrollment & Registration
Baltimore Toddler Program spaces can fill several months in advance. Starting early gives your family time to visit more than one school, observe how teachers interact with children, compare the curriculum, and decide whether the nurturing environment matches your values.

We are so grateful for the incredible staff who have ALL been instrumental in our son's first school experience. The school itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious. The structured activities paired with his teacher's patience makes for the perfect environment for our boy. We noticed a positive behavioral difference in our speech delayed toddler after his first week. Before enrolling, we shopped around for months and are so thankful we came across this gem. His teachers Miss Keyona and Miss Brooke took the time in advance to ask us about his special interests and learning style and have made an amazing effort to remember and apply what we shared about him, while working with him to reach his social and developmental goals. Seeing my son get excited to go to school every morning affirms my confidence that we made the best choice!

I like the small size and that everyone knows my child’s name. It’s also well kept and clean. My child comes home happy, clean, and wants to go back the next day. He also learns a lot at school! We hear new words and phrases weekly 🙂

From the start, our experience with TBMC has been incredible and to be specific it has been because of the following: -The staff - every single staff member knows us and our child. They are in tune with each person, their family members, their routines, and they truly care about our well being as a whole. It did not take long at all to become accustomed in the parent-teacher relationship as they really make you feel at home from day one. -The structure of the classrooms - The placement of classrooms and different age groups being exposed to each other at strategic times is really great. It allows for the children to build on relationships with children within and outside their groups and it's made a difference in how our daughter socializes outside of school. -The classroom size - it's not overwhelming and truly gives our child space to learn, socialize, and be independent. -The Montessori style of teaching - seeing how my daughter has blossomed in such a short amount of time is in part the style of teaching, but also the commitment from the teachers. I see first hand how much she adores them and her trust in them is profound. They genuinely care and it shows.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Toddler Program
Our toddler preschool focuses on exploration, relationships, movement, sensory play, and short group experiences suited to this developmental stage. A traditional preschool class usually includes more structured learning and a stronger focus on kindergarten readiness. We build the early skills that help toddlers enter that next setting with confidence.
